Welcome to the New YALit.com!

Well, this redesign has been several years in the making (in fact, there was one iteration that never even was published!)  I hope you find the new format helpful.  Right now, only 2013 books (and a few from 2014!) are listed but I hope to go back and add previous releases, particularly for series and popular authors.

The new website gives us a lot more flexibility in terms of the amount of information we can provide for each book, and I am hoping to include a lot more detail in the future.

If you have any suggestions for features, feel free to leave them in the comments!  I don’t have as much free time as I used to, but I’ll see what I can do.

I personally preferred the previous display format for Upcoming releases, mainly because I could see many more titles and their info on one page. This helps me size up the distrubtion of release dates more readily, as well as the other information. It seems like the trend of adding graphics to everything is the main culprit. It’s the same burden showing up inlibrary catalogs, which makes it so much slower and cumbersome to assess search results. How about an option to display in the previous mode?

      Hi Steve,

Thanks for your comment! We’ve already had a request for more of a “printer-friendly” view, so that’s something we are planning to add in the future. It won’t look exactly like the old site but it’ll contain just the essential information without pictures (though possibly the information will be listed in monthly pages – we’re still figuring it out). Just need some free time to work on it!

Thanks for the attempt at a “list” view, but, ahem, it’s not really an effective difference in numbers of titles on a page, what with the Amazon and Indie ads and links still hogging space… sigh 😉 Can’t a list just be a list anymore? Especially considering there is still the original defaul view and everything that comes with that.

I remember that in the old version one could see what books had been recently added…there was an update section of sorts. It would be handy if you could put it back. Thanks and keep up the good work!

      Hi Roberta,

The other site actually didn’t have a recently added section. It was just Upcoming Books and Recently Published. Apparently our old site did have an RSS feed that had that, but there wasn’t a direct link to it.

We are going to work on adding that feature both as a page on the site and an RSS feed.

      Thanks!

Hello! I miss your RSS feed. I used to be able to see what had recently been added. Is there any way to get that back?
    Thanks!

I just said this to another commenter but I’ll add it here.

We are going to work on adding that feature both as a page on the site and an RSS feed. There is currently an rss feed on the site that does give you the newest additions but it seems to also output authors I’ve added.

      Thanks,
      Keri
